Theatrical Event Posters Assignment

The Theatrical Event Poster:

This event poster should represent something that is about to occur in the future. It can be anyplace, any event or representing anyone. It must be an event where the public is invited which makes this poster a recruiting tool and advertisement for the event. It can be local or national or international.

All images/artwork has to be original. Nothing from the web except the information.

Size: 12 x 18 /13 x 19

Media: Digitally Printed but can be created however you wish from hand drawn to digital to collage to photography to painting (or all of them.) Think outside the creative box on this one.

Content: Each student should have at least 3 concepts ready to go before starting the project. That means students will come to class ready to discuss/defend their own choice in front of the other students. Ideas should be posted on blogs.
If posters exist of this event from another year/decade then please make reference to those by showing them.

Required Info on Poster: Who, What, When, Where (and your visual should answer the question "Why should I care?" If the visual concept isn't strong then it has no presence to the rest.

Specs: Name of the Event/Sponsored by (logos)/Where it will be/ Dates for event/ Contact info for Event/ Website/ Phone or email/ Any additional information necessary for public such as hours of operation/ where to buy tickets/even some description of the event or those individuals appearing on stage (bands/actors/speakers/etc)

Use of Typography is as important as the image you create for the event. It must be an event that is forthcoming.
